Jeffco Human Services Foundation is a nonprofit, community-based organization on a mission to break the cycle of generational poverty. We partner with initiatives that provide services and opportunities that enable Colorado families to thrive in our community.
We support programs like Jeffco Prosperity Partners (JPP) and additional innovations that work with multi-generational families to overcome barriers, brought on by poverty, to reach self-sufficiency.
Our solution to poverty
Jeffco Prosperity Partners (JPP) is a community, supporting families moving from poverty to prosperity. JPP uses a holistic, multi-generation approach to help students earn diplomas and parents reach self-defined prosperity.
JPP collaborates with community partners to provide programs that focus on financial literacy, family wellbeing, job skill development, health and wellness, education, and building social capital.
Moving from poverty to prosperity -
one child, one family at a time.
JPP Success Story: AJ
AJ started working for Jefferson County Head Start as a Bus Aide and quickly worked her way up to a Teacher Assistant position in a Head Start classroom. It was then that she discovered her love of education and helping children learn to cope with social emotional learning.
This passion led her to go back to school and earn her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and has now enrolled in a Master's program.
AJ has recently received a promotion and is now an instructional coach working to support teachers on their professional development. She has doubled her income in the last three years, improved her credit score, and continues to make incredible change for our community including giving back and serving in many ways.
AJ serves on the Jeffco Schools Community Diversity Advisory Committee to elevate the voices of diverse families in our community. She is a leader on the Jeffco Prosperity Partners Family Leadership committee.
